Again, this fall, we have a chance to sit together for six days, waking with the bell and following the call of the han.

The annual Every Day Zen Sesshin will be held at the Santa Sabina Center in San Rafael. It will start at 5:00 pm Monday, October 28th and end at noon Sunday, November 3rd, 2019.

Zoketsu Norman Fischer will lead the Sesshin. Shin Zan So Do (Faith Mountain, Ancestors Way) Steve Gross is Shuso.

Sesshin takes place during the EDZ Fall Practice Period, which begins with the Shuso Entering Ceremony at the All Day Sit on September 15. You do not need to be participating in the Practice Period to join us at sesshin.

We invite you to sign up now for the annual EDZ Sesshin at the Santa Sabina Center in San Rafael. A completed application and deposit of $150 will hold your place.

If you have an oryoki set of bowls and cloths, please bring it. If you don’t have an oryoki set and need to purchase one, you may do so here. The cost of an oryoki set is $53. Oryoki instruction will be provided at the start of sesshin.

All meals are vegetarian. We will offer an alternative at each meal to meet most dietary restrictions. If you have specific personal food needs/ restrictions, please plan to bring items to meet your needs. To facilitate oryoki service we will be asking people with food allergies/restrictions to sit together in the dining room. If you have any questions or comments, please leave a note for the kitchen liaison on the message board.
